Our first day in Delhi was intense, to say the least. I will try to get pictures of our crazy ride in a rickshaw, insane traffic, and other scenes soon. I took some great pictures. We are off at 6 am tomorrow to catch a train to the Taj Mahal.

Wow. That ride from the airport to our hotel in Delhi was absolutely INSANE. We will get pictures tomorrow. Woah.

Chaotic, Confusing, and Colorful

Turns out the video didn't work on the last post and I can't get it to work now. Something to show you when we return I guess. We just finished a quick trip to Puket, Thailand. We stayed at posh hotel thanks to Kate McGrath. I Included a picture of the sunset and some views from the car.We are sitting in the Bangkok airport awaiting our flight to Delhi, India. I just read an article calling India chaotic, confusing, and colorful. I will let you know how true we find that statement.

One cultural difference that stood out to Mike and I are that small children ride on mopeds (see picture from Puket). Something I would have a hard time getting use to.

I included a picture of a cat because they are EVERYWHERE in Ko Phi Phi and it didn't seem right to leave that out. If you don't know, Mike and I are actually a bit afraid of felines and got the creeps often while walking down the street. We would have been more comfortable with dogs.

I have included some pictures of our snorkeling trip in Ko Phi Phi. We rode in one of those crazy wooden boats and visited the site where Beach was filmed (see picture of us at the beach in our wetsuits). Our guide didn't really speak English (he's pictured leading the way on our boat), so it was quite the interesting trip. I got stung by a baby jellyfish on the elbow, but survived by shaving my elbow (I know... so weird... but it worked).

Final night in Ko Phi Phi

Check out the video and you will see the views from our resort. We also included a picture of our cute little bungalow. Our last night in Ko Phi Phi included a lizard hunt and a trip to Thai kick boxing. We were given free shots of some sort of banana liquor, so needless to say my stomach is feeling a little off today. True to McGrath travel code, we have played cards during happy hour before dinner every night (thought I'd include a picture of that as well). We are off to Phucket in a few minutes. India is next!

Thailand Pics- Round 1

Thailand- Ko Phi Phi

We made it to Ko Phi Phi! It was quite a lengthy journey. We had to take a plane to Phuket and then a two hour ferri to the island of Ko Phi Phi. We got a little giddy from all the traveling (hense the picture of Mike with the purple pillow on his head). It's VERY hot and humid here (you can even see the humidity in some of the pictures). But our cute "resort"/private bungalow has air so we are good. We took some pictures of the town last night/ate authentic thai food and took a hike this morning when we got up at 6:00am (not yet adjusted to new time zone). More to come!

As you can see, Chewy helped with packing and we took off from Ann Arbor to begin our world tour! We started the tour with a trip to the Galena. Highschool friend Kristine was married to Art on an absolutely beautiful "mountain" in Western Illinois. We had a fabulous time catching up with old friends, rocking out on the dance floor, and spotting naked men wandering around in the hotel at 1am (long story... we'll explain later). We have passed off Chewy to brother/sister-in-law Pat and Emily and we're getting pumped for taking off on Tuesday. It will take us over 24 hours to reach Bangkok, but business class/personal DVD players will help our cause.
